The Goose Creek girls started fast and finished strong as they earned a 75-24 win at Fort Dorchester.

The Lady Gators lived up to their No. 7 ranking in the Class AAAA coaches' poll as they cruised by the unranked Lady Patriots Monday. Goose Creek jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first minute of play and extended the lead to 15 by the end of the opening quarter. They then doubled that lead in the second quarter.

The Lady Gators moved the ball around well to score both in the paint and on the perimeter. Goose Creek hit four shots from behind the arc, two of which came from Alex Ludwig. She led all scorers with 16 points while Shakeia Joy added 10 for the Lady Gators and Ryan Bishop added 9.

Senior Erika Cobb finished with 6 points to lead the Lady Patriots. J'Quana King finished with 5 and Jordan Sprueil with 4.

Fort Dorchester hosts West Ashley at 6:30 Friday. Goose Creek hosts Timberland at 7 p.m.
