Ridge Christian grapplers win SCISA battle

The Ridge Christian Academy wrestling team improved to 6-3 on the season Monday by earning its second victory over Pinewood Prep.

Ridge Christian handed the Panthers a 42-39 loss. Cody Mayberry (126-pound division), Nate Shumpert (132) and Jonathan Driggers (220) all won their matches by pinning their opponent.

For Pinewood, Austin Murphy (113), Matthew Latham (120), Brad Richards (170), Sam Yuan (182), and Cameron Poaps (285) all pinned their opponent.

Ridge Christian also had some success during the Cardinal Newman Christmas Tournament. Driggers won the 220-pound division and Mayberry placed second at 132.
