The Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce wants to add some power to its members and the community’s hour by offering a Monthly Morning Power Hour.
Starting in January 2014, each Chamber Council and Division will be the host at one monthly meeting held at various locations. A speaker will be featured at each meeting and will present a topic that is relevant to the host Council or Division as well as to the Chamber membership and the Summerville/Dorchester County community.
The first power hour will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 and will feature John Grab, Vice President of Real Estate Development for Nexton and MeadWestvaco Community Development and Land Management who will give an update on the Summerville Nexton project.
Mr. Grab has more than 30 years of experience in real estate development, specializing in large master planned communities. He is primarily responsible for the development of Nexton, a 4,500 acre master-planned community in Summerville.
The community is planned for more than 10,000 homes and over 8 million square feet of commercial property. Nexton will be a 21st century community with state of the art technology, sustainable practices, smart living and an environmentally sensitive approach to development.
Registration and networking for the January meeting will start at 7:30 a.m. followed by the program at 8 a.m. and will be held at the Holiday Inn Express located at 120 Holiday Drive in Summerville. The meeting will be hosted by the Chamber’s North Summerville Area Business Council and presented by Tony Pope – State Farm Insurance.
The morning meetings will be open to all Chamber members at no charge and only $25 to non-members. To learn more about the Chamber’s Councils and Divisions, the Monthly Morning Power Hours and other Chamber events, please visit www.greatersummerville.org.
