Blue lights mean stop!
Luis G. Ortega, 36, of St. George, was arrested Dec. 13 by Dorchester County deputies for Failure to Stop for Blue Lights and other traffic offenses.
Deputies initially attempted to execute a traffic stop for excessive speed on Highway 78 where he was clocked at 80 mph. Although the deputy had initiated lights and sirens, the vehicle did not stop although it slowed to 55 mph. The deputy observed it crossing the center line a few times as it entered St. George. The vehicle finally stopped just before Hwy. 15. The deputy used his PA system to order the subject out of the vehicle.
There were language difficulties, according to the report. The driver finally told police he did not have a SC driver’s license but did have a Columbian identification card and a U.S. work visa. He was placed under arrest for no driver’s license, speeding and failure to stop.
Flushing doesn’t really work…
Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Dorchester Manor Blvd., in North Charleston Dec. 14, for a disturbance. Arriving at the scene the deputies noticed the keys to the front door were hanging in the lock. Announcing themselves as they knocked on the door, a female came running telling them that the subject – Du Xuan Dao, 32 – was in the back room. Deputies located Dao and placed him in investigative detention. They observed his hands were wet.
The female told deputies that they had gotten into a verbal altercation. She said he did not answer the door when deputies knocked because he was in the back bathroom flushing “crack” down the toilet. Deputies observed in plain sight, two glass smoking pipes in the bottom of the toilet. Dao was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
