Resource Center offers health care guidance

  • Wednesday, January 8, 2014

Access to the Affordable Care Act got easier for Summerville residents as of January 7, according to the South Carolina Progressive Network.

The Community Resource Center, at 116 West 2nd North St., is host to navigators each Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Plans call for navigators – those people trained to assist consumers in enrolling for health care through the government website – to travel from Charleston until Summerville residents can be trained to assist at the site.

“Dorchester County residents will now have another, closer option when looking for help applying for healthcare through the Marketplace,” said Tim Liszewski, the Network’s Lead Navigator.
