Help sought with driver ID in hit-and-run of six-year-old

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in identifying a hit and run driver who struck a six-year-old child who was walking to school.

The child was transported to MUSC. The child’s condition has not been released.

The incident took place on the morning of Jan. 15 at Windsor Hill Blvd. and Aspen Woods Lane in Dorchester County.

The vehicle is described as a silver or gray mini-van or crossover type SUV. At this time, the damage to the vehicle is unknown.

SCHP requests that anyone with information about this collision or about the vehicle of interest, contact the South Carolina Highway Patrol at 843-953-6010 or 1-800-768-1506, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

The tip could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
