Flowertown Garden Club

The Flowertown Garden Club has plans to update the landscaping around the Cuthbert Community Center in Azalea Park. The project is being funded through the sale of prints of a painting by local artist and club member, Cecile Langham Cothran, which is displayed in Town Hall. The $15 prints are 9 x 11 and are now available at the Finishing Touch in Summerville or by emailing Judi Burns at judiloub@gmail.com.

St. Padre Pio Oyster Roast

The St. Padre Pio American Catholic Church Oyster Roast to benefit Dorchester Children’s Center and the church is Saturday, Jan. 18 at Miler Country Club from 6 to 9 p.m. The club is at 400 Country Club Blvd., Summerville. Cost for all you can eat is $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. For tickets call 851-5577 or 871-7500.

Grand opening of the Life Center

Tricounty Family Ministries has partnered with Trident Literacy and SC Works to bring education and employment services to folks in the lowcountry at their new facility. The grand opening will take place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at 1914 Reynolds Ave. in North Charleston.

The Chamber’s Business After Hours

Canicross

The sport of “Canicross” comes to Charleston on Saturday, March 1 on the historic fox hunting and equestrian trails at Middleton to benefit the Middleton Hounds. Canicross is a combination of “canine” and “cross-country” as in cross country running.
