Becker’s Hospital Review has named Trident Medical Center to its list of “100 Hospitals with Great Heart Programs,” the hos earlier this week.
Trident was one of three South Carolina heart programs that earned this distinction. These hospitals have programs demonstrating excellent clinical outcomes, cutting-edge research and cardiac risk-reduction programs. “Over the last several years, our heart program has achieved some of the highest patient quality marks in the nation. This is a direct result of the high level of care our physicians and staff provide Trident’s patients on a daily basis,” said Allison Walters, AVP of Cardiac Services at Trident Health.
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected the hospitals based on their heart programs’ recognition for quality of care, clinical awards and research contributions to cardiovascular care. These hospitals have received recognition as outstanding providers of cardiovascular services by U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the American College of Cardiology Foundation and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Trident Health is an HCA hospital system comprised of two acute care hospitals – Trident and Summerville Medical Center – as well as Moncks Corner Medical Center.
