Area landowners are invited to attend the quarterly meeting of the Tri-County Forestry Association on Feb. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Thomas Mende and Keith Middleton from Klausner Lumber will present. Klausner is an Austrian softwood timber manufacturer currently in negotiations to establish a sawmill in the Orangeburg County area.
They will provide an update on their mills in North Carolina and Florida and the current status of the South Carolina mill.
There will also be an update on current forestry issues in South Carolina and the Lowcountry.
Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members, payable at the door, to cover supper.

The meeting will be held at the Worlds Grits Headquarters, 110 S. Parlor Avenue in St. George.
