Charleston Municipal moves into first place

Charleston Municipal held off the home team to win the second match of the Charleston Area Menís Interclub Golf Association season.

The match was held Jan. 20 at Charleston National Golf Club. Charleston Municipal came in with a team score of plus 18 to earn first-place honors. Charleston National was the runner-up with a plus-4 finish. They were the only teams to make their points.

Shadowmoss placed third with a negative-1 score. Trailing were Pine Forest (-2), Legend Oaks (-8), Dunes West (-11), Summerville (-13), Coosaw (-17), Wescott (-22), Rivertowne (-25), Berkeley (-26), Stono Ferry (-27) and Crowfield (-29).

The top individual score was a plus 11 by Bill Richardson from Legend Oaks. Robert Lindley from Pine Forest placed second with a plus 9. Full results and other Interclub information can be found at http://chsinterclub.org.

With the win, Charleston Municipal moved into first place in the team standings with 22 points. Dunes West and Pine Forest, with 20 points each, are tied for second place. Trailing are Charleston National (18), Stono Ferry (17), Shadowmoss (14), Berkeley (14), Wescott (13.5), Legend Oaks (13), Rivertowne (12.5), Coosaw (8), Summerville (8) and Crowfield (6).

The next interclub match is scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 3 at Pine Forest.
