Helping others regain sight

  • Friday, January 31, 2014

The first annual Celebrate the Vision event will recognize Operation Sight’s efforts to restore the vision of low-income, uninsured South Carolina residents by providing free cataract surgery to qualified patients.

Operation Sight is the area’s only nonprofit to offer free cataract surgery and follow up care.

Surgical services are donated by the organization’s founders and surgeons, Drs. Kerry Solomon, John Boatwright and Paul Herring.

Area anesthesiologists, optometrists, medical equipment providers and healthcare professionals also support the cause.

Join Operation Sight’s health care professionals, volunteers and patients for a night to “Celebrate the Vision” including heavy hor d’oeuvres and libations at the Butcher & Bee on Thursday, Feb. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $60 and include food, beer, wine and entertainment.

Tickets can be purchased by calling (877) 354-4822, mailing a check to 1101 Clarity Road, #100, Mt. Pleasant SC 29464, or by visiting the website at www.operationsight.org. Tickets are limited.
