FDHS offers movies to community

  • Friday, January 31, 2014

The yearbook staff of Fort Dorchester High School will begin hosting a series of “First Friday” movies on the Jumbotron at Bagwell Stadium.

Its first feature is targeted at the high school level and above, and is rated PG13.

It is a trial run and in keeping with Valentine’s Day, the staff has chosen The Proposal, starring Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock.

All planned future showings will be rated G, and all are invited to attend on the “First Friday” of each month (through May).

Admission is a monetary donation of choice, with proceeds going to help provide free yearbooks for students who likely aren’t able to afford a yearbook but are deserving of one. These students are nominated anonymously by the FDHS faculty.

Attendees will be allowed to bring blankets and chairs and sit on the field or in the stands to enjoy the movie. Concessions will be sold.
