Provided Pinewood Prep hosted the recent SCISA 2014 Regional Spelling Bee, where nearly 80 students from eight schools demonstrated their superb spelling skills. Pinewood students swept the bee with 38 points -- eight points above the nearest competitor. There was a Pinewood finalist in four of the six grade levels competing. Pinewood finalists include, from left, Ben Brown, Fifth Grade; Charlotte Shuler, Eighth Grade; Sarah Hudock-Jeffrey, Seventh Grade; and Austin Miller, Sixth Grade.† These students earned a spot at the SCISA State Spelling Bee in Kingstree in February, where they will compete for the Presidentís Cup.
