Trident Health announced today that Louis Caputo, CEO at Summerville Medical Center (SMC) has accepted the position of CEO at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Under Lou's four years leadership, SMC has been transformed from a 94-bed hospital to an acute care specialty medical center. Lou was instrumental in developing and adding many new service lines, including bariatric surgery, robotic surgery, wound care, MRI Caring Suite technology and impressive pediatric emergency and inpatient departments. In addition, Lou helped the organization achieve numerous accreditations and certifications in orthopedics, chest pain, stroke and sepsis protocols.
Lou was instrumental in making tangible and accessible improvements to healthcare in the communities of Summerville and Dorchester County. Lou will assume his new role on March 3; Trident Health will be opening a national search for his replacement.
