The Most Rev. Anthony Hash, presiding bishop of the United American Catholic Church, has announced the incardinations of the Rev. Robert J. O’Connell and the Rev. Mr. Anthony Moran of St. Padre Pio, Summerville, formerly affiliated with the American Catholic Church of the United States.

The United American Catholic Church does not answer to the Roman Catholic Church.

St. Padre Pio United American Catholic Church has grown from only 10 members when the Rev. O’Connell, known as Fr. Bob, founded it in 2008 to its current roster of more than 160 members.

According to Fr. Bob, the church aims to provide each parishioner with individual attention regarding his or her spiritual, sacramental and liturgical needs. The church also ministers to local nursing homes.

Mass is celebrated on Saturday at 4:30 p.m., and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. St. Padre Pio is at 102 Old Trolley Road, Summerville. Call 843-851-5577, email fatheroconnell@gmail.com, or visit www.padrepiochurch.org.
