Town’s planning workshop schedule released

  • Friday, February 7, 2014

The schedule for the week-long Town master planning design workshop was released this week.

Town staff and consultants constructed a publication, “The Summerville Voice,” that began circulating Monday with information on the charrette, or design workshop, according to Madelyn Robinson, director of planning and economic development.

The charrette will be hosted at the Cuthbert Community Center in Azalea Park during the week of Feb. 24 - 28. Members of the public who attend will be able to meet with representatives from the Lawrence Group, the consulting firm designing the master plan, to contribute their opinion on the future of Summerville.

The charrette will begin Saturday, Feb. 22 with a walking tour of downtown historic Summerville at 9 a.m. Those wishing to attend will meet in the Town Hall courtyard.

The charrette will officially take place during the week of Feb. 24 – 28; members of the public are invited to visit the Cuthbert Center as often as desired, and may speak on any topic.

Different workshops will take place throughout the week to guide the discussions.
