Ladson man shoots attacker

A Ladson resident shot a man who apparently tried to rob him with a stun gun after entering his driveway.

The would-be robber, Robert Deziel, 25, of Summerville, died as a result of the shooting, according to reports.

The incident took place Sunday at about 6 a.m. near Dunmeyer Hill Road just off U.S.-78, according to reports.

The homeowner was apparently walking to his car when he was attacked. The two men struggled until the homeowner shot the attacker several times.

Deziel died on the scene.

The homeowner was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries, according to reports.

It is unclear if an arrest has been made.
