Fire takes family pet (with video)

  • Friday, February 14, 2014

Tues., Feb. 11, at midnight Old Fort Fire Department responded to a house fire at 123 Forest Circle, Summerville.

Homeowners were not home, and the house was fully involved upon arrival of the first Engine Company.

“Power was being established throughout the neighborhood and we are not sure of this actually contributed to the fire,” said Chief Ed Genthert. “We will continue to investigate, the home was a total loss due to the percentage of involvement upon arrival.”

The family pet, a cat, perished, Genthert said.
