Elvis will be sighted at Third Thursday

  • Friday, February 14, 2014

Get those Blue Suede Shoes Feb. 20 and head to Historic Downtown Summerville for Summerville DREAM’s Third Thursday.

There will be a Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On with the theme of all things Elvis – including Elvis himself performing on Short Central.

Don those sequined jackets, slick back your best Elvis pompadour, lace up the saddle Oxfords and be prepared to Shake, Rattle, and Roll.

Oh Happy Day, the Charleston Stingrays’ Fan Zam will be giving rides – no singing the Steamroller Blues on this Zamboni.

Remember, There’s No Place Like Home when it comes to visiting the downtown businesses, which will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. Many businesses are offering from 10 to 25 percent off if dressed in an Elvis costume. Others have specials for those Elvis lookalikes.

A Velvet Elvis picture will be given away. Enter by “liking” The Finishing Touch on Facebook or fill in an entry at their store. The drawing for the Velvet Elvis will be Third Thursday, and the winner must pick it up from the shop. Accent on Wine will display the picture the Tuesday before the event.

Summerville DREAM (Downtown Restoration, Enhancement and Management) sponsors a monthly celebration to create a lively community atmosphere and promote local businesses. It’s the perfect chance to get acquainted with the historic downtown area in one lovely evening. Come join us – every Third Thursday of the month in the center of downtown Summerville, 5 to 8 p.m. – rain or shine.
