Toastmasters invites public

  • Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Allaboard, Boeing’s Dream Weavers, Greenwave Gabbers, Trolleytalkers and YMCA Yakkers Toastmasters clubs, invite residents to an open house to meet members and to be guests at a demonstration meeting and networking event.

“Toastmasters is a speaking club that can help you gain confidence speaking in public. With confidence, you will be ready for any occasion that you may have to speak — to lead a meeting, to talk to your boss, to give a briefing, or interview. You will learn how to speak on your feet, to give proper introductions, take and receive constructive evaluation and learn how to control your speaking fears,” says Sharon Arnold, Vice President of Education of the Allaboard Toastmasters Club of Goose Creek.

Members and guests will enjoy a demonstration Toastmasters meeting that will include prepared speeches, impromptu speeches and evaluations.

Following the meeting, the members will be available to answer questions and talk to guests about the benefits of joining a local Toastmasters club.

Free coffee and tea will be available and sandwiches and other fare can be purchased.

The Toastmasters Open House is Wed., Feb. 19, at Coastal Coffee Roasters, 108 E. 3rd North Street in Summerville from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
