Mean theft

On Feb. 10 a homeowner on Swanson Dr., in Summerville reported that her power went out at 7:30 a.m. She told Summerville police that when she went outside to get her newspaper, she saw a white male in his early 20s coming from the side of her house. He told her “not to worry about him he was just cutting through” so she thought nothing about it. However, when she and her daughter checked her power box they discovered someone had removed the meter and all the copper wiring leading to the top of the pole.

Guns stolen

A Robywyn resident returned home Feb. 10 at 8:30 a.m. to discover his back door open, his bedroom ransacked and his guns and jewelry missing. He had been away since 8 p.m. the night before. Summerville police took fingerprints. Stolen were two rifles and a Taurus handgun as well as two watches and a gold chain and silver bracelet.The firearms were valued at $750 and jewelry at $3,750.
