Reddy named SCISA 3-A Player of the Year

Cathedral Academy and Faith Christian basketball players have received all-region honors.

South Carolina Independent School Association Region 3-A officials released their all-region lists this week.

Faith Christian School and Christian Academy finished as region co-champs on the boysí side of the region while James Island Christian School is the region champion on the girlsí side. Christian Academy claimed the JV boysí region title while St. Johnís Christian Academy and Coastal Christian finish the regular season as JV girlsí co-champs.

Faith Christianís Theron Reddy has been named the 2013-14 3-A Boysí Player of the Year. Faith Christianís Marvin Walker is the Boys Coach of the Year.

Also named to the 3-A Boys All-Region team are Cathedral Academyís Desmond Brown, Drew Murray, and Christian Rogers; Faith Christianís Caleb Rogers; St. Johnís Christianís Greg Gamble, Damian Hurta and Jalen Ward; Christian Academyís Austin Guyton and Bernard Jones; and Coastal Christianís Raequan Gregg.

Faith Christianís Nichelle Cunningham is the 3-A Girls Coach of the Year. Kate Reeder of James Island Christian is the 3-A Girls Player of the Year.

Others named to the 3-A Girls All-region Team are Cathedral Academyís Macey LaPorte and Shannon Sander-Bess; Faith Christianís Kalyn Baird; James Island Christianís Christian Costa; and St. Johnís Christianís Amber Lewis.
