Steve Wagenlander has been named the publisher for Summerville Communications.
Wagenlander has been serving as interim publisher since Jan. 1. Summerville Communications includes The Journal Scene, The Gazette (Goose Creek), and The Berkeley Independent (Moncks Corner).
Before arriving in Summerville, Wagenlander served as Corporate Director of Audience Development for Evening Post Industries. Along with his corporate responsibilities, Wagenlander served as the Director of Audience Development for the Post and Courier.
“Steve is one of our most senior leaders and we are very pleased to appoint him to oversee our operations in Summerville, Moncks Corner and Goose Creek,” said P.J. Browning, president of the Newspaper Division and Evening Post Industries.
Wagenlander, who previously worked for the Indianapolis Star and the Lexington Herald-Leader, is a frequent industry speaker, and has been a faculty member for Inland Press Foundation Circulation Academy. He was named Circulation Executive of the Year by the Newspaper Association of America in 2010, and Presstime Magazine selected him as one of the “20 under 40” top young talents in the newspaper industry in 2004.
Wagenlander can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling The Journal Scene office at 873-9424.
