Boating safety class offered

The Charleston Sail and Power Squadron will offer a basic training class known as America’s Boating Course on Saturday, April 8. It is open to the public and approved by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

Students who pass the final exam will receive a DNR Boater Education Certificate.

The course is free for ages 12 to 18. Adults pay a nominal fee that covers course materials. The day-long class will be taught at the CSPS headquarters at 1376 Orange Grove Road in West Ashley.
