Students place at Storm The Citadel

Provided Faith Christian School won for the Spirit category during Storm The Citadel 2014.


Faith Christian School and Dubose Middle School both placed in the fourth annual Storm The Citadel competition.

Storm The Citadel is held as part of Naitonal Engineer Week, which celebrates science, technology, engineering and math.

The competition was Held Feb. 15 and had more than 45 teams and 300 participants.

The students built trebuchets – a kind of catapult – for the competition. The teams were on hand at The Citadel to launch them before judges who scored them on accuracy, distance, spirit and design.

To help competitors prepare The Citadel’s physics department provided free workshops for team leaders.

In the Hoplite Division for elementary students Faith Christian School won for Sprit. In the Centurion Division for middle school students the Dubose Middle Gru Cru won for Design.
