Harold Durscher made a hole in one Feb. 14 at Summerville Country Club. Durscher used a 6 iron to drive the ball 140 yards and ace hole 15. It was witnessed by Bob Sneed, Vernie Knight and Fred Gutierrez.

Green Wave Open

The 2014 Green Wave Open to benefit the Summerville High School Golf Team is scheduled for 1 p.m. March 1 at Summerville Country Club. The entry fee for the four-person Captainís Choice tournament is $65 and includes cart, food and prizes. Individual or team entries are being accepted. The tournament will include a long drive and closest to pin contests. For more information contact coach Aaron Litz at 276-9015 or Bray Blanton at 873-2210, extension 1.

Athletic Hall of Fame

Nominations for the Summerville High School Athletic Hall of Fame are being accepted until March 1. Athletes who attended SHS or Alston High School are eligible for the honor. Nomination forms may be picked up and returned at the SHS Athletic Office. Forms turned in after March 1 will hold over until next year.

Nite golf

Wescott Golf Club will host its Nite Golf youth fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. March 7. Organizations the event benefits include the LPGA/USAG Girls Golf of Charleston. Cost is $70 per two-person team for the eight-hole course and includes food and prizes after the event. Players carry two clubs plus a putter. To enter contact Perry Green through the clubhouse or sign up in the pro shop.

Fox Trot 5K

The third annual Ashley Ridge Fox Trot 5K is scheduled for 9 a.m. March 1 at the high schoolís cross country course. The registration fee is $25 per runner up until race day when the cost jumps to $30. Students receive a $5 discount for early registration.

Registration is available at Active.com and the Charleston Running Club Calendar. Proceeds benefit the AR athletic programs as designated by participants. Shamrock Shuffle

Registration is open for the 2014 Shamrock Shuffle, which is scheduled for March 15.

The YMCA-sponsored event features a 10K run, 5K run/walk, and one-mile fun run as well as Bring on Your Green, School Challenge and Corporate Challenge contests. Early registration is $25 for the 5K/10K races and $10 for the Fun Run. Individuals can register by visiting any Summerville Family YMCA location or through ymcashamrockshuffle.org or raceroster.com.

Summer tennis camps

The Town of Summerville Tennis Program has scheduled Summer Camps for those age 6 and up from 8-11:30 a.m. June 16-19, June 23-26, July 7-10, July 14-17, July 21-24 and Aug. 4-7. The fee for each session is $110 and includes snacks and a Thursday Pizza Party. A $50 deposit is required at the time of registration. SSC gears up for season

The 2014 Summerville Soccer Club Spring season is on its way. Select teams have started to practice and all teams that participate in the Coastal League will start soon. U4 to U8 teams will begin practicing in a few weeks with games starting March 1. Teams for the ages 4-8 will be formed the week of Feb. 10. Visit www.summervillesoccerclub.com for more information.
