The United States Attorney’s Office is sponsoring its 11th Annual Project Sentry Logo Contest.
The statewide contest affords students an opportunity to raise awareness in the prevention of gun violence in schools by designing a logo for use in upcoming Project Sentry publications.
The contest is open to any student (elementary, middle, or high school age) in South Carolina. Entries will be divided into four grade categories: Grades 1-2; Grades 3-5; Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12.
A winner will be selected from each of the grade categories and will each receive a $50 cash award. The overall winning logo, which will be chosen from among the four category winners, will receive an additional $50 cash award (for a total of $100), and will be featured in Project Sentry publications. All cash awards are courtesy of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’ Association Foundation.
Entries should be consistent with the theme “Preventing Gun Violence at Your School.” The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 4.
Earlier this month, contest information was distributed to schools throughout South Carolina, encouraging them to participate. If your child is interested in participating, please contact your school and/or local law enforcement agency as contest information has been provided to them as well.
Additionally, if your child’s school is not participating in the contest, they may still submit an entry.
