Families turnout for Fox Trot 5k

Provided Barbara Wiggins and Jason Bryan were the top finishers for the 2014 Ashley Ridge Fox Trot 5K.

A large group of runners showed up at the Ashley Ridge High School campus March 1 for the third annual Ashley Ridge Fox Trot 5K.

More than 75 runners participated in the race to raise money for the high schoolís athletics programs.

Jason Bryan finished with a time of 16:32 to claim top honors for the overall menís division. The overall womenís winner was Barbara Wiggins with a time of 20:43.

The second and third place overall menís finishers were Jackson Ellenburg and Douglas Torgerson. The second and third place overall womenís finishers were Melissa Cunningham and Angela Torgerson.

Maureen Bodkin was the womenís masters division (40 and over) winner. Ron Menchaca was the top menís masters finisher.

Race Director Reed Sauter said he was pleased with the turnout, especially the many families that took part.

ďThe Summerville community has really supported this race, and we are delighted that the proceeds will help support student-athletes at Ashley Ridge.Ē

On hand for the post-race festivities were race sponsors Chick-Fil-A of Dorchester Road, Fleet Feet Sports of Mount Pleasant, Atlanta Bread, Harris Teeter, Dorchester Road, and Biggby Coffee.
