Clemson event offers pest help for gardeners

Clemson University will be hosting a workshop, Nuisance Wildlife Management in Agricultural Crops, on April 10 at the Dorchester County Career and Technology Center in Dorchester.

Presentations will be given on: Deer Populations in S.C. and the Dorchester Area, Management Strategies for Deer in Agricultural Crops, Depredation Permits, Feral Hog Management, and Beaver Management.

The program will be hosted by Rebecca Hellmuth, Agronomic extension agent in Dorchester and Berkeley counties, Derrick Phinney, Area Forestry extension agent, and Zack Snipes, Commercial Horticulture extension agent in Charleston and Beaufort counties.

The program will include a sponsored dinner.

It will take place from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at 507 School House Road in Dorchester. Please RSVP to Heather Weaver at 563-5773 or hweave2@clemson.edu by Monday, April 7.
