Flower show a success

The 2014 Breath of Spring flower show attracted participants from across the Lowcountry earlier this month.

A complete list of flower show award winners were announced this week from the more than 220 flower and horticultural entries displayed.

Award of Horticulture Excellence: Martha and Wesley Fisher, Camellia Japonica “Pink Perfection.”

Award of Merit: Betty Gourdin, Narcissus Trumpet “Gigantic Star.”

Best Non-Reticulata Hybrid Award: Martha and Wesley Fisher, Camellia Hybrid “Freedom Bell.”

Historic Beauty Award: Susan Walker, Camellia Japonica “Little Too.”

Sunshine Award: Monika Meek, Viola Tricolor “Hobbit.”

Mesmerizing Foliage Award: Nancy Stuckey.

City by the Bay Award: Laura Courtney, Maranta Leucoreura “Prayer Plant.”

Educational Award: Ann Yarbough, Exhibit Title “Purple Mountain Majesty.”
