A 3.0 magnitude earthquake hit Summerville around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Originally reported as a 2.5, the U.S. Geological Survey and Center for Earthquake Research and Information are reporting the quake at 3.0.
It had a 5 km depth and originated in Centerville, according to the USGS website.
The last earthquake that originated in town took place two months ago and was of similar scale, only 2.2 magnitude on the Richter scale.
