A pair of former Summerville High School standouts turned in impressive performances during the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships March 1.
Carvin Nkanata won the menís 200-meter dash with a 21.24 time and helped the Pittsburgh 4x400 menís relay team to a first-place finish.
Nkanata advanced to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, where he placed third in the country in the 200 with a 20.52 time and helped Pittís 4x400 relay team to a fourth-place finish.
Brianna Blanton advanced to the finals of the womenís 800 during the ACC Championships and placed eighth with a 2:11.73 time. Her qualifying time was 2:09.48.
Blanton ranks fifth in Clemson history in the womenís indoor 800, sixth in the outdoor 800 and ninth in the 1500.
