Summerville High JROTC ranked 14th in Nation

Summerville High School Navy JROTC Orienteering Team is ranked 14th in the nation. The NJROTC Cadets competed in the fifth annual Navy JROTC National Orienteering Championship Invitational (NOCI).

The meet took place on March 8-9 at Richard B. Russell State Park in Elberton, Ga. It was a two-day meet with a course run on Saturday and Sunday. The best three times from a team on each course for each day was added together to get the overall team time which determined the champion.

Teams must have successfully completed a course both days to be eligible for the course award. All Courses were Electronic Punch.

Only 35 Navy JROTC Units, and 525 cadets were competing in the meet. There were 660 Navy JROTC units that were editable to qualify for the meet. Summerville Cadets finished 10th nationally on the Orange Course, 13th nationally on the Green Corse and 14th nationally on the Yellow Course.
