Charles Rowe Miller

Charles “Charlie” Rowe Miller, 69, of Summerville, husband of Wendy (Altman) Miller, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Summerville Medical Center.

A gathering of friends and family was held at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 2 o’clock until Hour of Service. Memorial services began at 4 o’clock p.m..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Charlie was born on March 8, 1945 in Georgetown, SC son of Cornelia (Rowe) Miller Rodgers of Georgetown, SC and the late James “JD” Doris Miller. He graduated from Charleston Southern University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He served in the United States Army. Charlie was Past Master of Masonic Lodge 234 in Summerville, Past Recorder of Omar Shrine Temple in Mt. Pleasant and Impresario Ameritas for Royal Order of Jesters, Charleston Court 113. He worked as Director of Public Works for Town of Summerville. He served on the bank board of First National Bank of Summerville, Dorchester Boat Club and member of the Exchange Club of Summerville.

Surviving in addition to his wife Wendy are: one daughter: Tabitha Miller Keefer (Terry) of Summerville; two granddaughters: Lauren Ashton Keefer and Madison Owen Keefer, both of Summerville; one sister: Marsha Wilson (Johnny) of Georgetown, SC; sister in law: Vida Miller of Pawleys Island, SC. He was predeceased by two sons, Winston Owen Miller and Hoyt Monroe Miller and one brother JD Miller, Jr.
