The Summerville Cricket Club has a big match scheduled for later this month.
Summerville will take on the Tropical Sports Club March 29-30 at Gahagan Park.
Based in Atlanta, the Tropical Sports Club has an established cricket team that has vast experience so it will be a good test for the developing Summerville team as well as a fun event for fans.
The event will include two games.
The March 29 game is a forty over cricket match, the version of the game that lasts longer. The match is scheduled for a noon start and should conclude between 6-7 p.m.
The next day, the teams will pair of for a 20/20 match scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and run through 2:30 or 3 p.m. The 20/20 cricket format offers fans a more quick-fire and action-packed version of the game. With less time to score runs, batters focus more on power.
The event is open to the public and Ladles restaurant will have soups and sandwiches available for purchase at the pitch. If you have never watched cricket, this is your chance to find out why the sport is so popular internationally.
