Anyone wanting to commemorate their Flowertown Festival experience shouldn’t have any problem doing so.
Screen East, which opened its doors in Summerville more than 30 years ago, is again the exclusive supplier for Flowertown Festival apparel. The company will offer T-shirts, hats, visors and shopping totes bearing festival logos, and is taking measures to ensure festival goers have plenty of options.
Commemorative gear in a variety of colors will again be available from the Screen East booth right in the heart of the festival (next to the Y’s location at the corner of Main and West 5th South Streets).
In addition, the company is making plans to offer the gear at a second location closer to the festival entrance across from Summerville Town Hall.
Screen East is equipped to take custom orders on site for apparel baring a number of unique designs, including a children’s design. It is bringing back some patron favorites and offering new designs as well as additional sizes this year.
“Tie dye shirts were so popular last year that we sold out so we are going to stock more of them,” Screen East owner Beth LaPrad said. “Last year the smallest size we had was a youth small, but this year we are offering sizes even smaller.”
As always, one of the T-shirt designs is based on the artwork YMCA officials pick to spearhead their marketing campaign for the Flowertown Festival. This year, that design incorporates Susan Roberts’ photograph of a Hydrangea titled “Betty’s Favorite.”
“We always look forward to the festival,” LaPrad said. “It’s a fun time for everyone so we love being part of it.”
