Trident kids' camps registration opens

Trident Technical College Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development is accepting registrations for the Kids' College 2014 Summer Camps.

The innovative series at Trident Technical College for children ages 7 to 16 that inspires, educates and engages children features fun and educational offerings in subject areas including 21st century life skills, computer technology, creative arts, culinary and pastry, math and science and online courses.

Each camp runs for a five-day period, meeting from 8:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:30 p.m. and costs from $99 to $199 per camp. They will be offered in six locations around the Lowcountry from June 9 to Aug. 8. Almost 1,500 students participated in the 2013 programs.

St. George: Trident Technical College Dorchester County QuickJobs Training Center will host 10 camps for 7 to 14-year-olds from June 16 to Aug. 1 at 5164 E. Jim Bilton Blvd. in St. George. Camps will be available in subject areas such as computer technology, creative arts, math and science and online options. Offerings include: Gamestar Mechanic; Google Applications; Jumping into Minecraft; Super Fun Web Design; Art Studio; Adventures in Math; Can You Dig ?!; EARTH Camp; Motion, Potion and Commotion; and Space: The Final Frontier. Mount Pleasant: Trident Technical College Mount Pleasant Campus will host 36 camps for 7 to 16-year-olds from June 9 to Aug. 1 at 1125 John Dilligard Lane in Mount Pleasant. Camps will be available in subject areas such as 21st century life skills, computer technology, creative arts, math and science and online options. Offerings include: Leadership Program; Alice 3-D and Video Games; Computer Forensics; Gamestar Mechanic; Jumping into Minecraft; Minecraft Art; Character Creation: Superheroes; Comic Book Creations; Digital Film Making; Fun with Digital Photography; Imaginative Photography; Off Charleston – From Page to Stage!; Packing-Tape People; Under Sea Cardboard Sculptures; 3-2-1 Blast-Off; Adventures in Math; Aviation Adventures; Biomedical Imaging Technology; Can You Dig It?!; Crazy Chemistry; EARTH Camp; Harry Potter; Inside, Outside and Everything In-Between; LEGOs in Motion; Let Go of My LEGOs!; Mad Machines and Crazy Contraptions; Mindstorm EV3 Robotic System; Motion, Potion and Commotion; Red Hot Robots; Science and Art of Aviation; Secret Agent Lab; and Space: The Final Frontier. North Charleston: Trident Technical College Main Campus will host over 100 camps for 7 to 16-year-olds from June 9 to Aug. 8 at 7000 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. Camps will be available in subject areas such as 21st century life skills, computer technology, creative arts, culinary and pastry, math and science and online options. Downtown Charleston: Trident Technical College Palmer Campus will host eight camps for 7 to 14-year-olds from June 9 to July 11 at 66 Columbus St. in Downtown Charleston. Camps will be available in subject areas such as creative arts, math and science and online options. Offerings include: Off Charleston – From Page to Stage!; Sailing to Charleston; The Wall; 3-2-1 Blast-Off; Biology Brainiacs; Crazy Chemistry; Inside, Outside and Everything In-Between; and Secret Agent Lab. Moncks Corner: Trident Technical College Berkeley Campus will host eight camps for 7 to 14-year-olds from June 23 to July 18 at 1001 S. Live Oak Dr. (Highway 17-A) in Moncks Corner. Camps will be available in subject areas such as computer technology, math and science and online options. Offerings include: Gamestar Mechanic; Google Applications; Jumping Into Minecraft; Super Fun Web Design; 3-2-1 Blast-Off; Crazy Chemistry; CSI – Crime Scene Investigation; and Harry Potter.
