Another SPD cruiser in crash

Summerville Police Cpl. Chad Faglie was responding to help another officer on Bacons Bridge Rd. at 9:20 p.m. Monday, March 31, when another vehicle cut in front of him and the two collided in the area of Blockbuster Video, according to SPD PIO Jon Rogers.

According to Senior Trooper H.R. Wimberly , Troop Six community relations officer, the police cruiser was traveling south on SC165 (Bacons Bridge) in the fast lane with lights and sirens on in a 2012 Dodge Charger. A 2011 Jeep, driven by 33-year-old man, made an improper lane change into the Charger.

The driver of the Jeep was charged with improper lane change. Both subjects were wearing seatbelts and no injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
