Orchestra support group plans fashion fundraiser

  • Wednesday, April 9, 2014

The Summerville Orchestra Friends, a support organization of the Summerville Orchestra, will be hosting an iced tea party fundraiser for the orchestra on Sunday afternoon, April 27, at the Summerville Country Club pavilion from 2-4 p.m.

In addition to serving iced tea donated from Charleston Tea Plantation and elegant finger foods, the event will feature a fashion show with apparel from the Maggie Rose boutique in downtown Summerville. A woodwind ensemble from the Summerville Orchestra will provide background music.

Additionally, there will be a silent auction at the clubhouse. Winning items can be purchased with cash or check.

All profits generated by this event will be donated directly to the Summerville Orchestra. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door (cash or checks only). They may be purchased by calling Robert Strobel, the SOF Treasurer, at 821-6852 or charged online at www.SummervilleOrchestra.com. Reserved tables are available for groups of 6-8 people.

The Summerville Orchestra Friends was able to present the orchestra with a $2500 donation this past October due to the success of its Fall Harvest Dance, which was also held at Summerville Country Club. It is expected that this will be another memorable event in Summerville, where the tea is always served sweet.
