Ashley Ridge High School will host its first spring-break soccer tournament next week.
The Swamp Foxes have invited seven other teams to compete in the Lowcountry Cup soccer tournament scheduled for April 15 and 16 at the AR stadium.
“The tournament will feature four teams form the Lowcountry plus four teams from the Upper State,” Ashley Ridge coach Nate Harris said. “We have a number of 3A schools coming but they all play with 4A teams during the season so it should be competitive.”
Class AAA teams participating are Walhalla, Seneca and RB Stall. Class AAAA participants include Ashley Ridge, T.L. Hanna, Summerville, West Ashley and White Knoll.
Walhalla is ranked ninth among the state’s 3A teams and Stall is ranked 14th.
Each team will play at least three games over the two-day period. The consolation finals are scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday and the championship game will follow around 6 p.m.
One-day passes will be available at the gate for $6 each and two-day passes will be available for $10.
