The C at Coastal Coffee Roasters has expanded the coffeehouse footprint and now also features local visual artists. The new art space will have an opening on Friday, April 11, 6 – 9 pm at 108 E. 3rd North Street, Summerville.
Three Summerville artists have joined Costal Coffee Roasters to celebrate this new art space with the tag line “ Fresh. Local. Creative.”
Austin Smith, who paints with acrylic on medium to large size birch panels, carefully uses wood grain to interpret the ever changing South Carolina sky and water.
Kevin Morrissey’s paintings are about exploration of identity and changes in his southern home. Morrissey seeks to embody the outlook and emotion of the growing transitional south.
Inspired by woodblock prints of the Charleston Renaissance, Karyn Healey’s oil paintings employ a graphic and stylized approach. By interpreting southern icons in this style Healey’s work offers a different perspective.
The first edition of “C” Art featuring Summerville visual artists opens Friday, April 11, 6 – 9 pm.
