Magnolia Gardens and Terrace Theater hugging for ‘Bears’

  • Friday, April 11, 2014

The Terrace Theater and Magnolia Plantation and Gardens are hugging again on April 19 for the premier of “Bears.”

Before the showing of the Disney film, Chris Smith, director of Magnolia’s zoo and nature center, will present a display of small animals in the theater’s lobby. Smith’s presentations will be at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., 30 minutes before each screening.

The animal demonstration is free with the purchase of a ticket to the movie, and will benefit the Goodall Institute that helps protect wild chimpanzees. Keep the movie ticket to receive $1 off Magnolia’s $15 garden admission price. The redemption expires April 30.

“Bears” captures the fast-moving action and suspense of life in one of the planet’s last great wildernesses — Alaska. “Bears” arrives in theaters around the country in time to celebrate Earth Day.

The Terrace Theater, Charleston’ s only independent movie theater, is located at 1956 D Maybank Highway. For more information, visit www.terracetheater.com or call the box office at 843-762-4247.
