Third Thursday to feature animal rescue organziations

  • Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Summerville DREAM and Pulty Homes invite you to come celebrate furry friends at this month’s Third Thursday in downtown Summerville on April 17 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The theme is “Rescue Me,” and DREAM will be showcasing businesses that will help keep your animal companions healthy and happy. Animal rescue organizations will be available to give information on how to bring home a new best friend … and potential “best friends” will be on hand.

DREAM booths, on Hutchinson Square and on Short Central, will be accepting donations for these wonderful organizations. Suggested donations include detergent, bleach, towels, dog treats, Pedigree puppy food, Purina ProPlan (salmon or lamb), kitty litter and dog collars.

These organizations can also use gift cards from PetSmart, Petco, Staples and Office Depot. Carolina Party Artists will be on hand to paint children’s faces to look like either a cat or a dog, the perfect complement to this month’s theme.

Music for this event will be performed by the Ambler Hall Band behind Guerin’s Pharmacy and the Charleston Hot Shots in front of People, Places and Quilts. There will also be live music by Alan Bibey and Susan Riddle from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. inside A Single Smile Café.

In addition, check out the Sweet Tea Tour Trolley on Little Main Street near the Town Hall; see what the trolley is all about and make plans for a future ride!
