Styslinger joins ARK as NOAH Coordinator

Micky Styslinger

Micky Styslinger of Summerville has joined The ARK, Alzheimer’s Family Support Services as its Neighborhood Outreach Alzheimer’s Help (NOAH) Project Coordinator. She is responsible for working with rural and underserved urban areas to develop services to meet the needs of families living with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. The service area includes the tri-county, Orangeburg and Colleton counties.

Styslinger brings a wealth of management, training, and leadership experience. She is a certified trainer for Powerful Tools for Caregiving, and is a Dementia Specialist. She previously was a regional director and trainer in early childhood education for over 17 years. Prior to that, she worked in early childhood education since 1980. She has been active in Kiwanis, Muscular Dystrophy Association and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospitals.

The NOAH Project received a $40,000, three-year grant from Wheat Ridge Ministries earlier in 2013 to help meet the needs of rural families in lower South Carolina. Over the years, the NOAH Project has help facilitate workshops, support groups, and respite programs in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. The NOAH Project is working with communities in Orangeburg County.
