The Summerville Civic Ballet, the Lowcountry’s Premier Youth Ballet Company, will present “Hansel and Gretel” on Saturday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
The performance will close out the ballet’s second season. “Hansel and Gretel” will entertain both children and adults as they are captivated by a young boy and girl who are trying to find their way home and along the way encounter forest creatures, a malevolent witch and her minions, and a candy and gingerbread house. This two-act show was directed and choreographed by Douglas Smoak, the artistic director of the Summerville Civic Ballet.
The event will be held at Northwood Baptist Church Auditorium (2200 Greenridge Road, North Charleston) near the Northwoods Mall. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door.
