Local gals triumph on the pitch

Roger Lee/Journal Scene Morgan Vega was one of five Summerville players to score Tuesday during the Lady Green Wave’s shutout of Colleton County.

All three Dorchester Two girls’ soccer teams picked up a win Tuesday.

Five different players scored for Summerville as the Lady Green Wave handed Colleton County a 5-0 loss. Morgan Vega, Madison Reeves, Cyarah Wilson, Haley Wheeler and Tinslee Dilday all put the ball into the net against the Lady Cougars.

Amber Howell had the shutout in goal.

Summerville improved to 4-8-1 on the season with a 2-4 mark in Region 8-AAAA with the win. Colleton County dropped to 3-8, 0-6.

The Fort Dorchester girls defeated Beaufort 3-1. Sandoval scored two goals for the Lady Patriots and Studley added a goal.

With the win, Fort Dorchester improved to 8-4 on the season with a 5-1 mark in region play.

The Ashley Ridge girls defeated Bluffton 3-2. Scoring statistics from the game were not available at press time. The Swamp Foxes improved to 6-4 and 4-2.

On Friday, Ashley Ridge hosts Fort Dorchester in a match that will have a big impact on the region standings.

The Lady Swamp Foxes won the first match this season between the cross-town rivals.

The Summerville girls travel to Beaufort Friday.
