Grace graduates

Air Force Airman Jeremiah L. Grace graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, TX.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Grace is the son of Jerry and Kimberly Grace of Summerville. He is a 2011 graduate of Cane Bay High School.

Ramey completes training

Air Force Reserve Airman Reginald A. Ramey graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, TX.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Ramey is the son of Susan and Reginald Ramey of Loganville, Ga., and grandson of Fred and Catherine Wheeler of Summerville.

He is a 2013 graduate of Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Ward receives scholarship

Alexander T. Ward has received an Air Force ROTC scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded on a merit system in areas such as academic achievement, extracurricular activities, physical fitness, specific performance or accomplishment, leadership abilities, and personal interviews.

The scholarship entitlements include tuition and fees and an allowance of $600 per semester for educational assistance, textbooks, supplies and equipment, and a monthly stipend for up to 10 months of each school year during the first year at the host college or university.

Upon graduation from the host college and completion of the ROTC program, the student cadet receives a bachelorís degree and a commission of second lieutenant in the Air Force.

Ward is the son of Rebecca B. and Michael L. Ward of North Augusta, and the grandson of Joyce and Willis Ward of Summerville, and Louise Beck of North Augusta. He is a 2014 graduate of North Augusta High School.
