Bob and Nancy Mussat of Summerville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 4.
The couple were married on April 4, 1964 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac, Kan.
George R. “Bob” Mussat, originally of Frontenac, Kan., is retired from DuPont. He worked for the company for 34 years. He is the founder and owner of Comprehensive Safety Resources, a business he started 10 years ago.
Nancy Joann Mussat, maiden name Sheets, is originally of Pittsburg, Kan. She is a retired Realtor of 25 years.
The couple have three children and eight grandchildren.
Their children are Bobby and Angela Mussat of Summerville, Brenda and Gary Elliott of Jacksonville, Fla., and Dr. Becky and Dr. Christopher Whitlow of Winston-Salem, N.C. Their grandchildren are Kayla Arlene, Kylie Joann and Kinsey Marie Mussat, Alyssa Joann and Lindsey Annemarie Elliott, and Isabella Lorelei, Raelin Sophia and Julian Augustus Whitlow.
Bob and Nancy attend St. John The Beloved Catholic Church. They most enjoy vacationing and attending activities with their children and grandchildren. They also enjoy their constant companion Dolly, their little Sheltie.
On April 26, the couple celebrated their special occasion with a gathering of family and friends at their son’s home. First Impressions of Summerville catered the event.
Bob and Nancy renewed their wedding vows at St. John the Beloved the following day. Rev. Monsignor Chet Moczydlowski officiated.
A family cruise has been planned as a further celebration.
