The Summerville Farmers’ Market got off to an exciting start in April as customers streamed in to reap the benefits of shopping locally. Due to a delayed growing season caused by the unseasonable cool and wet spring, May will see local produce options quickly expanding.
Additionally, Market organizers are happy to announce that the Market Café is now a reality! Upgrades to the Town Hall courtyard have been completed and live local music will continue to be featured every Saturday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. this year. Make sure to stop in to enjoy some of your tasty market purchases while listening to the family-friendly sounds of Molly Durnin (5/10), Southrail Bluegrass Band (5/17), Brendan Pugh (5/24), and Jumbo Ukeleleblues (5/31).
The Journal Scene “Vendor Spotlight,” which highlights a different market vendor each week, will begin again soon.
