DD4 to hold public forum on superintendent choices

The Dorchester County School District Four Board of Trustees (Board) is pleased to announce that the Board has selected three finalists for the position of Superintendent. The finalists, listed below in alphabetical order, are:

Dr. William Dixon. Dr. Dixon is currently the Assistant Superintendent for the Colleton County School District in Walterboro, South Carolina. His experience includes service as a Principal at the high school and elementary school levels and service as an Assistant Principal. Dr. Dixon spent several years teaching in public schools and also served as a head basketball coach.

Dr. Morris Ravenell. Dr. Ravenell is currently employed by Dorchester County School District Four and serves as the Principal of Clay Hill Elementary School in Ridgeville, South Carolina. His experience includes service as a Principal at the elementary and middle school levels and service as an Assistant Principal. Dr. Ravenell taught math in public schools after a career in the technology field.

Mr. Gerald Wright. Mr. Wright is currently the Interim Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, Pupil Services, State Testing and Operations for Orangeburg County Consolidated School District Three. His experience includes service as a Principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Mr. Wright spent several years teaching in public schools and also served as an Assistant Principal.

The Board invites the community to meet the three finalists on Monday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the gymnasium of Woodlands High School, located at 4128 Highway 78, Dorchester.

The community is invited to submit questions for the candidates in advance at the Dorchester County School District Four District Office located at 500 Ridge Street, St. George, or by 6:00 p.m. at the Community Meeting.
